Everything you will see in this site is directly related to original Turkish sources. The information that you will encounter here is based on my direct experience with these dogs since 1970. These dogs were always part of my immediate family's life, which we still keep very special strains of Yoruk Shepherd Dogs in Izmir and Denizli in Turkey and in Texas in the U.S.A. The original unpublished work includes all the below given information that was registered in 2002. You may contact me if you would like to obtain the details about this study. Above: A 5 months old male kizilyaka (red body) YSD (Yoruk Shepherd Dog) in Izmir from Yoruk village in Western Taurus region with me that belongs to Altays. This male presents a perfect square body, which has a wolf proven (any dog who killed a wolf) father. This dog is not from Kangal, although the head structure is very similar to Kangal. This dog is from a wrestling strain and one can easily see the relationship between this specimen and a typical Turkmen Alabay (in terms of structure not the colour). When this photo was taken he was 72cm on whithers, now his height is 84 cm. / 33 inches Karayaka ya da sirtlan itlerin, boz ve karalarin melezi oldugu yanilgisi icinde olanlar ile Yoruk akbasi ile Kangal akyakasi karmasasindan renkleri taban alarak cikacaklari yanilgisinda olup, yine de dogruya ulasmak isteyenler icin sorgulamali ve aciklamali bir alana geldiniz.
